Dear Friend,
A child is throwing starfish into the ocean one at a time from hundreds lying on the shore. A skeptical man questions her efforts as there are so many dying starfish on the beach. He asks… “How can you make a difference?” The child is surprised by the man’s question, bends to pick another starfish, throws it back in the ocean, and says to the man…. “Well, it made ALL the difference for that one!”
This wonderful story and its lesson, “I Can Make a Difference!” is the theme for our 2023 pledge campaign…
… and is based on Philippians 4:13; “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” This means each of us can make a difference through God and that God moves us to believe we can make a difference….in many ways…big and small.
We can all be like the undaunted child by making a difference. For example:
- Think of a day when receiving a warm smile made a difference for you.
- Think of a time in Church when you were uplifted by the music.
- Others make a difference by taking care of our church property.
- Our Church council leaders make a difference for all of us
- Our Church makes a difference by helping our Cape Cod neighbors in need.
- You can make a difference by simply being part of our church worship each week.
Ask yourself the question…. How can I make a difference in the life of our church? There is no doubt that each and every one of you can make a difference and this in turn makes it possible to fulfill our vision to be Together in Christ and Committed to Serve.
The timeline for our pledge campaign is as follows:
- November 6, please pick up your pledge packet in the church solarium.
- November 13th pledges will be blessed by Pastor John
- Pledge cards can be returned to the church office, mailed, or put in the offering plate.
YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE BY PLEDGING to support our missions and ministry.
What is God calling you to give? Your time, your talents, your gifts? The Apostle Paul reminds us in II Corinthians 9: 6 – 7, that God loves a cheerful giver. We thank you for all your current support and look forward to a successful 2023 pledge campaign
