Together in Christ – We Worship
Become Part of Our “Dream Team” How would you like to help on Sundays? We need Lay Readers, Ushers, Closers, and Coffee Hour crews. It does take many people to have our services run smoothly each Sunday. Participating in these ways will make you much more familiar with our wonderful congregation and church. Please contact MaryAnne Farley at 1 (774) 487-0719 or booklover126@comcast.net.
Here is another way to join “The Dream Team.” Pastor John is hoping we can start Sunday school again this September. The plan is to start with a “One Room Sunday School” approach. I have offered to see if I can recruit eight teachers who would take a turn teaching in teams of two once a month. I would provide the curriculum and all the supplies and get the lesson material to you two weeks in advance. We would schedule you for a particular Sunday (say the first Sunday of each month), and you could switch if necessary, or we can be flexible—it’s a work in progress! The class would start around 10:15 after the Children’s Message. A snack would be provided each week, and maybe a video or something in case the service runs long, or you finish the lesson early. I am excited to get something for our children (and hopefully new children) in place this fall. Please call Heather Wolfe for more info at 508-771-4354 or my cell at 850-320-0123. Thanks!
A Bible Study continues Thursday mornings at 10 am in the solarium during the summer. We will study the scripture that will be read the following Sunday. Come when you can. Don’t worry about signing up. Don’t worry about having any experience studying the Word. Bring a friend. We will be in the cool air of the solarium. All are welcome.
Arrangements for Sunday services are available for $50. You choose whom you wish to honor and what Sunday you would like. Call Jane at 508-428-2811 or sign up on the calendar in the sanctuary if you are interested.
We are very excited to be providing Meet and Greet opportunities so people can share a time of fellowship with Pastor John in a small group setting. If you have not yet received a call about this but would like to attend one, please call Laura Dunn at home at 508-477-6415 or cell at 508-221-3100

Help Pastor John put names to faces! As part of what will be an ongoing project, we would like to add your photo to our computerized pictorial directory that can only be accessed by Pastor John and our Church Secretary, Jane Gray. These images will be helpful to Pastor John and future pastors to put names to faces. We plan to begin this process at church next Sunday, August 7, 2022. Please help us complete this project as quickly as possible. – Thank you, The Transition Team

United Methodist Women
United Methodist Women……United Women in Faith In March 1869, the Woman’s Foreign Missionary Society was founded. In March 2019, United Methodist Women turned 150 years old. In March 2022, United Methodist Women became United Women in Faith. Join in celebrating our past and our future. The International President of UMF, ‘AINISE ‘ISAMA’U, says, “I’m not here to tell you how to feel in this often frustrating and heartbreaking world. I am here to challenge you to dream of a future in which all can thrive”. We in Osterville UW in Faith will gather to share this excitement and enthusiasm.
The Book Group met for the second time in the Solarium, where it was comfortable and relaxed. We shared some current reading and then old favorites. The Sentence, The Shell Speakers, 1491, all by Louise Erdrich, were discussed. Maja Angelou’s Mom and Me and Mom and an article in the July copy of National Geographic focusing on Native Americans were also discussed. We look forward to meeting on the third Tuesday of the month at 11:00 am for an hour. The next session will be on August 16 at 11 am. We decided to read by or about Native Americans. Seek the authors that tell the real story and then come to share it with us.
