April 3, 2021
Beautiful Beloveds,
Today is Holy Saturday, the day after Jesus was crucified and lain in the tomb, and the day before resurrection. It is a day of waiting. A day for holy pondering and contemplation. Today, we consider the joys and costs of mortality. We consider the life and death of Jesus. We consider the life and death of our loved ones, as well as those unknown to us.
I don’t know about you, but mortality seems so present these days. COVID-19, racial violence and injustice, natural disasters, life and death are on the news, in my inbox, on my heart. We see each day the fragility and tenacity of life. Today, let us give thanks for the gift of life, even as we mourn the deaths. Today, may our gratitude and grief mingle, as we await with holy expectation the joy of Easter.
Peace,
Heather

Easter Worship
Please register here to attend 11am Easter worship in our parking lot. You can sign up for Easter Sunday and/or the whole month of April.
While we are not offering Sunrise worship this year, you can tune in to worship on our YouTube channel as early as 5:30am
At 8:30 am, watch our Facebook Premiere, and offer one another Easter Greetings!
Then at 11:00 am we’ll gather in our parking lot for “Drive In” Style Worship. Hear the Easter hymns and a short message on your radio. See friendly, familiar faces. And proclaim with your car horn, “Christ is Risen! He is Risen indeed!” Please register here. **Please note, we may be trying a different set up to make Easter Extra Special. Be sure to look for our “traffic directors.”
Committed to Serve—We are making a difference
A note of gratitude from Louise Toler
“Thank you to everyone in church who has been praying for me. It seems to be working, because we’re beginning to talk discharge. I also want to thank everyone for their cards. It means a lot.”
Food for Thought: As we move from the injustice of the cross into the season of Easter, may God give us courage to reflect on privilege, injustice, and ally-ship.
Green Tips: Share good news! Tomorrow is Easter, Good news for you and me. While climate change is serious and can have deadly effects, people are working hard to reduce and even reverse the damage.
