Beautiful Beloveds,
Healing can take so many forms. A return to health, repair of relationship, courage to try again. Our Lenten worship series explores different aspects of healing each week. This Sunday, we’ll dive into community and economic healing. What will healing look like for our community post pandemic? I don’t think it’s as simple as returning to what was.
How will we imagine and re-imagine life together? I pray we will hold on to our sense of gratitude towards front line workers. I dare to dream our appreciation and care for one another will continue to deepen. What do you imagine, as you envision a healed and healing community?
Peace, Heather

Lent 2021: Holy Vessels
This week, we explore economic and community healing. Pastor Heather preaches both our virtual and drive-in worship. Listen in to hear our scripture read this week all the way from Australia.
The 3rd Wednesday Lenten Walk
Another opportunity to explore the healing powers of nature during Lent:
When: at 1:00 PM will be on March 3 over
Where: Trails at the Old Jail Lane Conservation Area. Please park at the Old Jail Lane Trailhead–just off Old Jail Lane between Phinney’s Lane and Rt. 6A.
This is a wonderful opportunity to explore outdoors with gifted guiding by Lev Malakhoff. Join other folks all safely masked and rejoice in God’s own sanctuary. Music by local bird soloists. This is a splendid chance to chat with friends, encourage one another, feel connected and be inspired in one hour. Please call or text MaryAnne Farley to join us. (774) 487-0719
Lenten Movie Fest
The next film in our Lenten series is “The Antidote.” This documentary was made as a response to the times we are living in. The film weaves together stories of kindness, decency, and the power of community in America. It is about everyday people who make intentional choices to lift others up, despite fundamentally unkind realities in our society that contradict the founding ideals of our country. The film is available on Amazon. Note: a film with the same name is available on Netflix BUT that is NOT recommended for this viewing and discussion series. The discussion group will be Tuesday, March 2 at 7:00PM via Zoom. Hope you can come.
Weekly Wednesday Worshipful Sweet Spot
Wednesdays 6:30-7:00 pm: A Worshipful Zoom gathering with scripture, prayer, music and God sightings. Where are you seeing God in your life, our community, and the world around us?
Committed to Serve—We are making a difference
Food for Thought: Understanding White Privilege
- Got 20 minutes? Check out this video from the United Methodist General Commission on Race and Religion. Robin DiAngelo unpacks what white privilege is and is not. Dr. DiAngelo is an anti-racist teach and author of White Fragility.
Green Tips Try Meatless Mondays
During the season of Lent, eat less meat to reduce your carbon footprint. Even just one day a
week without meat on your plate can reduce CO2 production, reduce methane/nitrous oxide
production, and reduce water use.
Prayer Request
Please pray for the congregation of Middlesex UMC and the community of Middlesex, VT, on the loss of this historic church. Thankfully there were no injuries.
Please submit prayer requests here or contact Pastor Heather directly, pastorheather@umcchurches.org and 774.994.3645.
