Consider the planet When setting the menu to focus on plant-based options which use far fewer resources than animal-based foods. Ask your caterer to use locally sourced ingredients to lessen the transportation impact. The same applies to beer, wine, and liquor. Cape Cod has several local breweries and wineries including Cape Cod Beer, Naukabout Brewery and Hog Island Beer Co., First Crush Winery or Truro Vineyards. Plated dinners result in less food waste than buffet dinners. Ask your caterer/venue if you can donate leftover food to a local food bank or shelter to eliminate unnecessary food waste.
