For Christians, Lent is the time when we remember the 40 days that Jesus spent in the wilderness, facing challenge and temptation. It is a time when we reflect on God’s purpose for our life. This year we challenge you to give up single-use plastics- to reduce the actions which damage God’s Creation.

Scientists think about 8 million metric tons of plastic enter the ocean every year. That’s the weight of nearly 90 aircraft carriers.
For the first week of Lent see if you can bring your own shopping bags and produce bags when going to the store. Also use you own water bottle. An estimated 1 million plastic bottles are bought around the world every minute.
