The Cape Cod Climate Change Collaborative is a Cape and Island collaboration of towns, organizations and people committed to taking action on climate change. This organization consists of six networks: Energy, Education, Faith Communities, Conservation, Built Environment and Transportation. These networks are working together to address four goals 1) 50% fossil fuel reduction by 2030 2) 100% renewable electricity by 2015 3) preserve and protect the natural carbon balance and enhance carbon storage by natural processes 4) educate Cape residences about climate change, meeting net zero goals and actions for meeting the goals.
Important fact: seagrass is 35 times more efficient at sequestering carbon than rainforests.
