A Season of Generosity and Grace
A Grateful Beginning
This year’s Alternative Giving Campaign was truly a blessing. Through the open hearts and generous spirits of our church family, we were able to share love, dignity, and hope with individuals and families both here on Cape Cod and across the world. What follows is a glimpse into the many ways your generosity made a difference.
Caring for Children and Teens
Through our Dress-A-Live Doll ministry, our congregation lovingly provided:
- Head-to-toe outfits for two girls and two boys
- Toys to brighten their Christmas
- Gift cards for one Teen Angel through Teens Love Christmas Too
In all, more than 40 items were donated—each one a tangible reminder to a child that they are seen, valued, and loved.
Giving That Reached Near and Far
Thanks to your financial gifts, our church donated and pledged over $3,625, supporting six meaningful organizations and ministries:
- A Baby Center
- Champ Homes
- Safe Harbor Shelter for Abused Women
- The Pastor’s Discretionary Fund
- Unsheltered Veteran Heroes
- Sierra Leone UMC Missions, including:
- The Child Reintegration Centre
- Mercy Hospital
These gifts extended compassion to neighbors in need and strengthened ministries both locally and abroad.
Sharing Everyday Blessings
With support from the Outreach Committee, campaign donations made it possible to provide gift cards for everyday needs:
- A Baby Center – 40 Target gift cards ($25 each)
- Champ Homes – 45 Target gift cards ($25 each)
- Safe Harbor Shelter – 11 Target gift cards ($25 each)
- Unsheltered Veteran Heroes –
- 8 McDonald’s gift cards ($25)
- 15 McDonald’s gift cards ($10)
- Miracle Kitchen Guests – 30 McDonald’s gift cards ($10 each)
Each card represented not just financial help, but care, dignity, and a reminder that someone is thinking of them.
Going the Extra Mile for Safe Harbor Families
In addition to gift cards, the women at Safe Harbor Shelter received:
- 11 gift bags filled with personal care items
- 3 large bags of groceries, including fresh food, to help nourish their families
These offerings helped meet both immediate needs and everyday comforts.
A Moment of Unexpected Grace
Two Outreach Committee volunteers spent a morning shopping at Market Basket for Safe Harbor families, filling four carts to the brim—even the racks underneath.
While waiting in line, a fellow shopper noticed the overflowing carts and joked, “You must have a lot of teenagers at home!” When the volunteers explained the groceries were for women at the Safe Harbor Shelter, the man quietly stepped away—only to return moments later and place $80 in cash into their hands to help cover the cost.
That simple act of kindness moved the volunteers to tears and reminded us all how generosity can ripple outward in beautiful, unexpected ways.
With Deepest Thanks
To our church family: thank you. Your generosity has blessed lives here on Cape Cod and in Sierra Leone, West Africa, and your kindness continues to shine far beyond what can be measured.
To God be the glory, and thank you for being the heart of this ministry.
