Please read the correspondence below from Brother Ken Diebner of the Veritas Foundation. He reached out to our congregation asking for donations of bandanas for the School of the Blind.
Happiness in Sierra Leone Bandanas Sent to UMCO
Hello Pastor Baker,
From all of us at the Veritas Foundation, we wanted to thank you and your congregation at the United Methodist Church in Osterville for your incredible kindness, support, and generosity in helping the children and staff at the Paul School for the Blind in Bo, Sierra Leone. Your efforts to collect over 400 bandanas and scarfs reinforces the message that Matthew shares with us in verses 25: 40-45
“… ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me… For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me… ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
Because of their handicap, many of these children have been abandoned by their own families, so with generosity like this, it gives us the opportunity to remind these amazing children that they are not forsaken, they are not forgotten!!!
Thank you for reaching out to those who have no voice and to those who have a way to ever repay you for your kindness.
