Pentecost Sunday – Memorial Day Weekend Worship
Pentecost Sunday, celebrated 50 days after Easter, commemorates the day the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples and is often recognized as the birth of the Christian Church. In the United Methodist tradition, Pentecost is a celebration of renewal, faith, and the Spirit’s presence in our lives and communities. Symbols of Pentecost include flames, a dove, and the color red — representing the power, peace, and movement of the Holy Spirit.

Sermon: Receive and Trust the Holy Spirit! – Pastor John Wesley Taylor
Scripture: Acts 2:1-21, John 14: 25-27
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly, a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. – Acts 2:1-4

Exciting News from the Trustees

🌳 Tree Fund Update
Our new trees have officially been planted, and they’re off to a beautiful start.
As they take root, they will need consistent care and watering throughout this first year. New irrigation and ongoing maintenance will also be essential to keep them healthy and thriving for years to come.
On Easter, Pastor John announced the Tree Fund campaign, with a goal of raising at least $20,000 to support this effort. We are grateful to Beacon Gardens for providing a significant discount and professionally planting the trees.
Donations may be made:
- In memory or honor of a loved one
- To the Glory of God
- Or with another special designation
These gifts will build on the generosity already pledged and help sustain this meaningful addition to our church grounds.
To contribute, please mark your checks “New Trees.”
Thank you for helping nurture something that will grow and bless our community for generations.

Wheels for Zeb & Barry
Rides to Sunday Worship – Volunteers Needed
We’re organizing rides for members of our church community who are eager to attend the 10:00 am Sunday service—and we’d love your help.
A sign-up calendar is available in the church office for those willing to drive.
- Zeb Olsen, who lives at 1 Buckskin Path in Centerville, is looking for a ride each Sunday.
- Barry Jones-Henry, a resident at Brookdale (just a short distance from Zeb), is also hoping to attend and would be deeply grateful for a ride.
With just one trip, you may be able to bring both to church.
Your time and kindness can make a meaningful difference—helping ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate in worship and stay connected to our community.
Please stop by the church office to sign up. Thank you for being part of this effort.
